A personal perspective on Young Onset Parkinson's

Right Now

Oh, heck.

“Clasp”, Acrylic on canvas, 40 x 40 cm

I can’t deny it
Any more.
My right hand’s
Has gone though the floor.

The fingers only
Do what they’re told
With the reluctance
Of a sullen teen
And the wrist won’t fold

Perhaps I’m tired.
I’ll go to bed.
But it’s happened now.
What was once only sinister
Has dexter manifested.

  1. I know of what you speak. I use to play the guitar, but dexterity or lack of it, has taken care of that.

  2. As you say, oh heck.

  3. The good news – I didn’t realise it until I actually went to bed last night, but I had forgotten to take yesterday morning’s cocktail of medication. Feeling better today.

  4. So glad to hear that!
