This week (7 – 13 April) is 2014’s Parkinson’s Awareness Week, and we have a theme:
Not as easy to paint a picture of as last year’s “In My Shoes”, but a very good theme, nonetheless. It’s something that Parkinson’s takes away: control over your own body, control over your own life.
It’s something that is worth clawing back as far as you possibly can.
I haven’t been blogging as much as I used to. I know that some of my readers have noticed this. One reason for this negligence is that I have lost control of several aspects of my life and never seem to have time for anything. How much of it is directly related to Parkinson’s is hard to say, but the condition will have had an insiduous effect on much of it.
I have, however, come to realise that I can’t blame Parkinson’s for everything that goes wrong. I have to work on the assumption that I can do it – I have to take control.
